Outdoor Events

Phase two is organizing an outdoor event run by queer guides for the queer community. Stay tuned after Pride Month!

“I travel the country solo for climbing, spending most of my time in a heteronormative space [...] It is always refreshing to flip those norms and be in a space that celebrates queerness and brings together our community.” - Sara @sparadis1108 [ Pictured in photo below, top center. ]

Outdoor events lead by queer folks, for queer folks.

Here are a few of the voices from the LGBTQIA2S+ on their experience getting outdoors with other queer folks, and why it matters.

“It felt amazing to be surrounded by so many badass queer folks that love the mountains as much as I do!” - Erika (she/her) @erika_0037 [ Pictured in photo above, top left. ]

“The experience was so fun and amazing! It was great to connect with other queer climbers, who I feel can be so underrepresented in the space, so to meet other queer crushers was awesome.” - Nicole (she/her) @nicnicgalang [ Pictured in photo above, bottom left. ]

“The community space was wonderful. [...] There was something truly special and supportive in the LGBTQ+ space this weekend, it was magical.” - Emily (they/them) @adventurers.pride [ Pictured in photo above, top right. ]

“Couldn't have asked for a better Saturday. So stoked, it was magic!” - Astryd (she/her) @astrydvale10 [ Pictured in photo above, center left. ]

📍 The beautiful photos on this page were snapped in Newe (Western Shoshone) & Eastern Mono/Monache Numu (Northern Paiute) lands. This photoshoot was brought to life in vivid color with the help of queer models, photographers, and outdoor guides in the LGBTQIA2S+ community.

Special thanks to: @brieoutside and @terakaia for organizing, and our lovely LGBTQIA2S+ models for shining in these photos | 📸 Photography by: @kiersa_koepnick
